The popular social media networking site, Facebook is all ready to enter the job market with its latest feature that can give tough competition to job platforms like LinkedIn in the coming future. But for the time being, the new feature will be available from Wednesday to businesses and job seeking candidates located U.S. and Canada only.
With the new addition, employers will now be able to post jobs directly on their Facebook pages. There is no limit to the number of postings that can be done. But for leveraging this facility, businesses have to pay nothing.
Finding a job is often a tedious process. But with this new inclusion, the process of finding and applying for a job becomes fun and entertaining as applicants don’t have to go elsewhere. Job applicants can use Facebook for both social interactions as well as for career stimulation. They will be able to see the job postings on facebook.com/jobs or on their news feed which can be done on mobile and desktop both and then select the one that suits their profession.
Although some information will be pre-filled for Facebook users such as name, city, email id and phone number (if it’s listed in FB profile). Besides this data, applicants will need to fill a 1000-character box on “Why you think you’re a good candidate?” If in case you feel you missed out an important point then don’t worry, you can click on the edit option.
Then the question of scheduling an interview arises and for that employers will have to communicate with the applicant over Facebook Messenger and carry the process further. Facebook is giving you the platform; you need to make it useful.
